Asshats shouldn't own animals
Since the pups are still contagious they aren't allowed anywhere... PetSmart, the dog park, and they can't even resume vaccinations until the kennel cough has been gone for a week. So, I got tired of worrying about their socialization and took them to bug Daddy in the office. You can see little Roxy following people around but Tyson just kept scratching his bum. I think he rolled in something outside that gave him the itchies. He visited a big herd of goats and his hair stood on end, so it might have even been that.
I also found this on the Humane Society website:
Following the nation's largest dogfighting raid, The Humane Society of the United States has launched a national animal fighting tip line. Those who have information about persons involved in illegal animal fighting — such as dogfighting and cockfighting — are encouraged to call 877-TIP-HSUS (847-4787). The HSUS offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dogfighting or cockfighting.
Please, lets help get asshats like this locked up...
He has now had 4 pitbulls killed for viciously mauling someone. He only got slapped with fines. Chances are he will pay them with drug money he didn't earn anyways. Neighbors have called police to his residence 28 times in 2 years. What are the chances he'll get 2 more dogs?

Mangey Mutts are Beautiful!!!
Tyson is a total clown. He really, really is. I see him make funny faces all the time with his tongue hanging out and he looks like he's smiling. So why does he look serious in all his pictures? Cause the little turd closes his mouth and just looks at me all serious when I walk up to him with a camera.

So, even though this isn't the best shot, I thought I'd use it. This is underneath the ramp Larry made for Sheena. We haven't taken it down cause Jasmine is a bit arthritic and figure she'd have a hard time with stairs. She has trouble getting out of the car. Oh, Jasmine goes to the bank drive-thru with me every Monday now. I want her to feel special since both Kayla and Sheena are gone and she's stuck with little wrestling babies who need to be barked at all the time.
Here's one of Ty I got from across the yard. This is what he looks like until I get up close and try to take a picture.

If you look at Miss Roxy in the 1st photo you can see her mange. We will call it "puppy pox" though, so she doesn't get her feelings hurt. After all, she IS a mangey mutt. Shhh...
Last week we started her on Ted's Mange Cure so we took some before photos. Poor baby also STILL has not shaken the kennel cough but I just cleaned her ears and they were perfect, no more ear mites.

This stuff hasn't cured the mange but she was only on it for maybe 5 days. I didn't dump it all over her and work it in like some people did cause she's so little.. I just dabbed the solution on with a cotton ball. It did stop the little bleed spots and seem to dry it out some, but it started to spread to around one of her eyes and down her nose, and I don't dare get anything too close incase it stings her.
Here she is just after the UPS guy came with her Nu-Stock.

Look at that little face. I'm so glad we got her out of the shelter before she started with the kennel cough and mange. I bet both of those combined with the fact that she's part pitbull, she would have been put down.

My Granbaby!
Excuse me, GRANDAUGHTER!
This is her head and a hand. The Doc/ultrasound tech? said she's just under 3 lbs. I think we have about 11 weeks left.

Here's my Tony in the waiting room, Ashleigh in the background, and the little boy is her brother. She also had another brother there, her Mom, Larry's Mom, and me.

It's so wonderful to know the sex of the baby, just because we can stop calling her "it" and "the baby". I bought a few little things of girl clothes that I'll post another time (like you guys even care LOL) but it's a big deal to me. I don't have to pass all the baby stuff anymore cause I don't know what to buy!

Curious Roxy
Yesterday morning Brandon and I were out in the backyard with all the pups and I took some pictures. Here's the view from the back deck. That field out past the fence... we regularly see bunnies, groundhogs, and even 2 different foxes.

Here's my babies suntanning themselves. As sweet and relaxed as they look, this only happens after an hour of rough-housing that I have to referee. Poor Miss Roxy, remember a few posts ago the vet told us she had demodectic mange? It looked like tiny goosebumps, but now it is spreading over her forehead, around her right eye, and down her nose. She even has a little patch on a front leg and also on her shoulder. The vet said it's common in puppies and when her immune system gets stronger it will probably go away on it's own, but it's starting to freak us out so I started her on a home made solution that I dab on the spots twice a day. I also ordered her some Nu-stock that I've read hundreds of reviews on and some people say it will grow hair on a door knob. I'm also switching them *slowly* to a new food. They've been on Iams Smart Puppy but they will be completely on Avoderm in a few more days. I DO have a life outside of canine care, I just seem to have misplaced it.

I call her "Roxy chickenpoxy"
Here's a typical pose from these 2. Roxy either found something or stole something from Tyson, and Tyson just sits and watches her with it.

So I end up finding a toy for Tyson and play with him, and within seconds I spot Miss Roxy doing a no-no.

Last weekend Larry pulled the hot tub out of the garage and moved it to the back of the house where it's going to eventually be set up. Miss Roxy climbed through the deck railing onto the edge of the tub and got stuck.

Where's all the water? This thing is empty!
(Notice her kiddy pool in the background)

My little granbaby on the left side of my blog that you've seen floating from a tiny kidney bean to a chubby little baby? She's a GIRL!

More Pretty Sheena
These were when she was younger, about 4-5 years old.
I love her face in this one.

This is before she started getting chronic ear infections. Her ears were so big.

One of her last photos. I cropped the background out and plan to put her on a beautiful background and frame it.

One night the babies where up coughing a lot so I gave them some medicine, put on the vaporizer, and settled in on the livingroom floor so Larry could get some sleep. The older girls had to come see what the commotion was and they ended up staying. This happened quite a few times, and one morning about 6am Larry came into the livingroom and whispered "You really are becoming the crazy dog lady" so I got up and snapped a picture.

RIP Sheena
I just logged on and realized I haven't been here in about 3 weeks. I didn't realize it had been so long. Sheena was laid to rest Thursday July 2nd. The last week she was with us she got much worse. I think I've been in denial, but the weekend before she started having even more problems and I found myself watching her Sunday night thinking I couldn't let her go through this anymore. She never did catch kennel cough from Roxy, and neither did Jasmine.
So it's been 5 days but everyone seems to be handling it ok. Since I was her main caretaker I'm realizing how much on edge I've been lately, jumping at every little thing and worrying about how it would affect her.. someone knocking on the door, people on the back deck, puppies wrestling, phones ringing, just walking from room to room. I questioned myself for making the decision, but I know it was the right one. She's with her Kay-Kay now.

All my girls had their own wonderful qualities, but Sheena was the one who liked company the most. She did her little quiet breathy bark but then she was all about finding her ball and forcing them to play with her. She was the only one who licked people and gave so many kisses. She looked happy almost constantly. She always seemed to look on the bright side of things. It didn't take much to make her little nub tail wiggle like crazy, to the point of her butt shaking back and forth.
